First heard this song when it came out...

Really liked the song, what with all the jazz elements

And I thought the lyrics were really cute

Especially the part about the clown reminded me of a circus...

(For some reason I thought it would be cute if someone really did sing this song in a circus...)



For people like me who don't really like Chinese, listening to Chinese music really adds some element of fun to learning chinese...

And when I buy a new CD, I would keep looking at the lyrics while listening for about a month before I get really sick of the music, which hardly happens, by the way...



So I learn the pronunciation/s of 'new' chinese words and sometimes, just by looking at the lyrics 'around' new chinese vocabulary, I can sort of understand what it means...

I believe most of us have had this experience...



A lot of people I know really like F.I.R....

My mom, who, by the way, doesn't like pop music very much, heard their music once while watching TV and thought they were pretty good, so she consented to me buying their CD...



My secondary 2 chinese teacher also liked them a lot...

When I was in secondary 1, during the teacher's concert for the school, she sang a song by F.I.R. (by the way, she sang really well)

Once, when we were having our mother tongue (chinese) lesson, she gave us a worksheet and played F.I.R.'s "Lydia" and asked us to fill in the blanks to practice our chinese listening skills -- although most of us didn't get the answers correct, we still had a lot of fun in the process, and when the rest of our classmates (the malays and indians and some other chinese classmates who had went for their own respective mother tongue lessons) came back from their own classes (including some other students who happened to walk past our class), they were so envious of us...



Although I didn't listen to chinese songs for a long time when I started home-schooling, I still listen to F.I.R.'s music during the occasional 'chinese-music-time'...
